The Dead Brothers

In lieu of an outdoor concert in the park, it was held indoors because of the monsoon which was falling from the sky last night. The Pussywarmers, a local group, opened for The Dead Brothers. They played in the hallway that led to the doors of the theater. An interesting blend of barber shop quartet and bluegrass. A snare drum, a stand up bass, a banjo, and an accordion.

The Dead Brothers and the Pussywarmers performed a song together at the beginning of the second set. The Dead Brothers eclectic, New Orleans style music was haunting and at times hilarious. At some point in time the trumpet/tuba player went out into the crowd and the lead singer killed him, only to come back to life and play the trumpet from the back of the theater. And later in the show the lead singer stumbled through the crowd singing through a bullhorn, and shouting at the rest of the group.

Italia!!!

I went to Milan yesterday to watch the game on the plaza in the center.

France scored first and there were unhappy ones....

Italy scored next, and there were happy ones...

The party began right after the game....

This guy was our Pied Piper. After the game he started playing and we started dancing on the steps of the Duomo(the big church) into the wee wee hours of morning.

These guys were playing the barrel and dancing on top...

There were big ones....

Little ones....

Tired ones...

Big ones acting like little ones....

In a tractor??!!...

On cars....

In cars...(which were not going anywhere)...

Friendly ones...

And hungry ones (" I eat pizza and spit out baguettes!")...

In the end I was in Milan at 3:30 am, alone, and exhausted. I walked the mile and a half to the train station, which was closed, then the bus station, also closed, then the other train station, also closed. Then I started talking with some people and one of them let me crash at his place, and all was well in Italia....
